Alvaro Cisneros, Executive Chef

Kent Wilcox, Director of Catering
With 29 years of experience in the culinary world, Alvaro Cisneros has built a rich career that spans a variety of roles and locations. He began at a barbecue restaurant in Chicago, where he honed his skills before relocating to Utah, spending nineteen years at Sundance Resort. During his time at Sundance, he had the privilege of working alongside talented chefs and wonderful people, learning the art of serving everything from intimate gatherings of 10 to large events for 1,000 guests.
Following his time at Sundance, Alvaro spent four years in Park City, working at various establishments, including Hill's Kitchen where he gained valuable experience overseeing catering, banquets, frozen meals, and Grab-and-Go services.
When not in the kitchen, Alvaro loves spending time with his wife, children, dog and friends. Cooking brings him joy and he loves sharing this passion with clients and helping make their events—no matter the size—a memorable experience.
Kent brings over 30 years of catering and event experience to Deer Meadows Catering. Having started working in the industry at a young age, he quickly worked his way to being the General Manager of a catering company where he oversaw 250 events per year. After managing this business for close to 20 years, he transitioned to to Loveland Living Planet Aquarium, where he spent four years, managing 200 events annually. In 2017, he moved to Thanksgiving Point, where he served as the Food and Beverage Director and overseeing 1,000 events each year.
Throughout his career, Kent has overseen the catering for more than 5,000 weddings and an estimated 12,000 total events, ranging from intimate gatherings to large-scale events with up to 2,500 guests.
Kent is passionate about maximizing value for his clients’ budgets, always encouraging them to view their event from the guests' perspective during the planning process. He finds it incredibly rewarding to be a part of the planning process for an event and always strives to make any event he coordinates memorable for it’s attendees.
